1.8 New Year, New Wife?

Soon New Year’s Day was upon them, and spring was right around the corner. The couple started the holiday by decorating the outside of the house and making resolutions to improve their skills. Gwen chose to improve her cooking and Mark chose painting. They wanted to go to San Myshuno to see if they could find a produce stall to buy Gwen some carrots. Afterwards they were going to watch the count down to midnight in a bar or lounge somewhere.

Luckily there was a produce stall in the Arts Quarter, which was the first place in San Myshuno they went. Gwen haggled with the shopkeeper and was able to get 25% off her purchase. She bought 10 carrots and she tried to think about what she would prepare them with.

After shopping a little around the city, they decided to head to Del Sol Valley to go to the bar where they first met. Starlight Cinema had a great tv to watch the countdown and they could dance for a while to celebrate before midnight. Feeling inspired by the festive atmosphere and the coming of a new year and a new baby, Mark decided to express his love to Gwen and bind their family closer together.

1.7 Again? Already!?

Gwen and Mark were happy parents, Aislinn (pronounced Ash-lin) was an easy baby, she only cried when she was hungry or needed a diaper change. Gwen loved smelling the sweet fine hair on her head and Mark loved tucking her little body in to her crib. Since it was still very cold outside they kept the baby wrapped up tight to keep out the icy air. Mark went to work the morning after Aislinn’s birth, but Gwen stayed home to care for her during the day. She was able to nap and paint during the day between caring for Aislinn’s needs. She was trying to sell as many painting as possible.

They had been saving their simoleons and they now have over §10,000 in their household funds, they were waiting until the baby aged up into a toddler to expand the shed into a real house, the money will help a lot in the renovations. When Mark got home from work he was promoted to Blogger, and he also received the Milton Processor so he could now write books at home.

Mark had seen a flyer on the cork board at work for the Spice Festive. Several of his coworkers who lived in San Myshuno had also mentioned it during the day. The festival was said to have some of the spiciest curry around and if you could stand to eat it you would be named Curry Champion!

1.6 A Nooboo is Born!

Gwen was in her 3rd trimester by now, her back hurt all the time and while she was tired too, her body demanded food way too much. Mark slept beside his girlfriend as she ate her breakfast, with his day off and then the Winterfest holiday falling the day after he hadn’t been to work in a few days. So it was lucky that both Gwen and he had the day off work today, she wanted them to save their family leave until after the baby was born and take time off when the child was an infant so they didn’t have to hire a nanny. With the time off they would have extra time to work on their skills and earn some extra money from Gwen’s paintings.

They decided to head to the the Casbah Gallery in the San Myshuno Art’s Quarter. There are lovely art rooms and a computer room there too. They spend much of their day there writing and painting, enjoying the contemporary and inspiring open feeling of the Gallery. Mark took a break from writing and spotted a produce stall in the courtyard in front of the gallery. He made his way there and tried his hand at haggling with the shopkeeper.

1.5 First Winterfest!

Today was the Winterfest holiday and that meant a day off work for both Gwen and Mark. They decided to start the day by decorating the tree that they had scrapped enough simoleons together to be able to buy. They had to build a living room to make room for the Winterfest tree but it was worth it to have the smell of fresh pine penetrate the house. They now had a private bedroom and a living/kitchen area also.

As they hung the ornaments on the tree they talked about their future and their unborn child. Gwen hoped for a boy because then the pressure of an heir was relieved. Mark just wanted Gwen and the baby to be happy and healthy. He had fixed the pipe that had busted in the kitchen sink last night after Gwen had gone to bed, he didn’t want her to stress about it when she was pregnant and bringing in most of the simoleons with her painting. Mark just needed to find a publisher then his books could start earning something, unfortunately it wasn’t as easy as it sounded.

1.4 Rapid Romance

Gwen was so exhausted from the Romance Festival and still not really getting enough sleep that she slept all day and woke up in the afternoon. Since she had not gone to Del Sol Valley but to the festival instead she decided to head to the old Starlight Cinema bar. She had heard that it was a funky and popular place for the less famous of the valley to congregate.

1.3 Legacy Lots and Love?

Gwen stared forlornly out over her empty lot, after returning home from a grueling day of work. She was exhausted, on the verge of passing out, stinky, and starving and because she did not receive a promotion today she still didn’t have enough simoleons to afford to build anything yet. The snow had melted away into a dull grey day, she sighed and wished for the comfort of a plush comforter and fluffy pillows, actually any bed would do right now. Gwen was mighty tired of sleeping in random cafes on couches, praying they wouldn’t kick her out.

1.2 Promotion!

The barista let Gwen continue to sleep on the couch with the other stray cats, maybe he felt sorry for her, she felt like a stray herself. In the morning light she could see that the cafe clearly helps the large feral cat population on the wharf here. There were food bowls and water dispensers everywhere, and the upstairs was a cat jungle of climbing towers and scratching posts.

1.1 Hard Knock Life

The Perffaith Legacy was off to a hard start with the Extreme Start, the household funds were down to zero and there was quite a snow storm blowing when Gwen Perffaith first arrived on her new home lot. She was a positive sim so she chose to look at the bright side of things and enjoyed the first snow of the winter season.

The first person she spotted walking about Cavalier Cove was none other than Father Winter! She headed over to introduce herself while she waited for the collectibles to spawn in the area.
