Generation 1, Perffaith Legacy

1.7 Again? Already!?

Gwen and Mark were happy parents, Aislinn (pronounced Ash-lin) was an easy baby, she only cried when she was hungry or needed a diaper change. Gwen loved smelling the sweet fine hair on her head and Mark loved tucking her little body in to her crib. Since it was still very cold outside they kept the baby wrapped up tight to keep out the icy air. Mark went to work the morning after Aislinn’s birth, but Gwen stayed home to care for her during the day. She was able to nap and paint during the day between caring for Aislinn’s needs. She was trying to sell as many painting as possible.

They had been saving their simoleons and they now have over §10,000 in their household funds, they were waiting until the baby aged up into a toddler to expand the shed into a real house, the money will help a lot in the renovations. When Mark got home from work he was promoted to Blogger, and he also received the Milton Processor so he could now write books at home.

Mark had seen a flyer on the cork board at work for the Spice Festive. Several of his coworkers who lived in San Myshuno had also mentioned it during the day. The festival was said to have some of the spiciest curry around and if you could stand to eat it you would be named Curry Champion!

Unfortunately both Gwen and Mark failed the Spicy Curry Challenge and they both ended up with a bag case of burnt tongues. The festival was enjoyable none the less, and Mark was even able to harvest some items for his garden he was planning to build in the future. Even if the curry burned their tongues, the smell of the fresh herbs growing and the pungent curry sizzling flowing together and mingling in the air was divine to the senses.

Mark has been working extra hard in all the many days he had off, and with his recent promotion he is now able to sell his books to a publisher. This means there will be more income for the Perffaith family and their heirs. Gwen has also been painting a lot on her family leave time, however she will have to go back to work soon. Their schedules didn’t match for their time off so it was perfect for them to care for baby Aislinn, one of them was always home to do so.

Any alone time together for them was precious, Gwen knew she needed to have a boy, so one night when Aislinn was finally sleeping soundly they decided to try for another baby. Mark was more than happy to try because he loved her and their family.

Of course Aislinn began to cry mid coitus, that however didn’t deter the amorous couple. Gwen got up after to tend to the baby and to take a pregnancy test right away she was starting to feel the pressure of producing an heir. Gwen sat on the toilet and she felt her body tense with uncertainty. She certainly wasn’t going to be able to pee on a little stick like that. She walked to the kitchen to get a glass of water, she chugged two in a row and returned to the bathroom and the little stick. She was successful and after the longest three minutes of Gwen’s life she saw the plus sign appear in the window of the pregnancy test.

Gwen had read all sorts of old wives tales about how to influence the gender of your baby. She had complied a fair bit of research on the subject actually, the most conclusive evidence pointed to eating lots of carrots and for some odd reason supposedly listening to alternative music helped. She believed the carrots more since, eating something changes you much more physically than just listening to music. However they had only one carrot seed and there was not time to cultivate it fast enough to help. She did have her headphones that Mark had given her for Winterfest so she was going to listen to alternative all the time, even if it was a silly wives tail.

Gwen wanted to find some carrots soon, maybe Mark and she could go to San Myshuno to look for one of those produce stalls that pop up in the little city centers. She especially loved the Arts Quarter and hoped there would be one there when they went to the city.
