1.6 A Nooboo is Born!

Gwen was in her 3rd trimester by now, her back hurt all the time and while she was tired too, her body demanded food way too much. Mark slept beside his girlfriend as she ate her breakfast, with his day off and then the Winterfest holiday falling the day after he hadn’t been to work in a few days. So it was lucky that both Gwen and he had the day off work today, she wanted them to save their family leave until after the baby was born and take time off when the child was an infant so they didn’t have to hire a nanny. With the time off they would have extra time to work on their skills and earn some extra money from Gwen’s paintings.

They decided to head to the the Casbah Gallery in the San Myshuno Art’s Quarter. There are lovely art rooms and a computer room there too. They spend much of their day there writing and painting, enjoying the contemporary and inspiring open feeling of the Gallery. Mark took a break from writing and spotted a produce stall in the courtyard in front of the gallery. He made his way there and tried his hand at haggling with the shopkeeper.

Luckily he was able to strike a deal and gets 25% off the produce, he decided to buy some seeds to plant in the spring time as that’s right around the corner. Mark bought a good variety of seeds for the coming seasons, he hoped that he actually had a green thumb or he just wasted several hundred simoleons, even with the discount. He headed back into the gallery to continue working on his writing. Gwen had been painting a great deal and their nest egg is growing hopefully they will be able to have enough to build a real home for their child and not have to keep living in the shed. Its a fine shelter for them but who raises a child in a shed.

After several hours of working, Gwen’s painting level had reached level 9 and Mark’s writing was level 4. Gwen used the legacy’s club new perk, Rally the Troops so they can keep working into the night. With renewed energy Gwen was able to move on to the last steps of her aspiration by completing the 10 excellent paintings. She was also able to reach the top level of the painting skill! They headed home later in the evening since both of them had work in the morning. They had an uneventful night of dinner and then bed time. Mark made sure to kiss both his Gwen and his baby’s bump before falling asleep.

Gwen went into labor late at night and since she was such a strong woman, she went back to sleep thinking she could go to the hospital in the morning. When the morning came so did the baby, Gwen had not expected not to be able to get to the hospital in time. After a quick labor a healthy baby girl was born!
