Generation 1, Perffaith Legacy

1.3 Legacy Lots and Love?

Gwen stared forlornly out over her empty lot, after returning home from a grueling day of work. She was exhausted, on the verge of passing out, stinky, and starving and because she did not receive a promotion today she still didn’t have enough simoleons to afford to build anything yet. The snow had melted away into a dull grey day, she sighed and wished for the comfort of a plush comforter and fluffy pillows, actually any bed would do right now. Gwen was mighty tired of sleeping in random cafes on couches, praying they wouldn’t kick her out.

The days turned into an endless cycle of working, trying to find a place to sleep and attempting to complete her daily painting task. Gwen was so tired all the time, and felt the weight of the whole world on her shoulders. She just wanted one night of fun and maybe to try to meet some potential spouses. Legacy life is rough, she had never been so uncomfortable but she had almost completed her shed at the lot and she only needed a few more simoleons to finish it. She was sleeping, more like living, at the Deadgrass Discoveries Museum and painting for simoleons in her spare time, she really was a starving artist at this point. She did manage to met a few sims during her many painting sessions, including J Huntington Jr who she chatted with for a while.

Gwen was still miserable but at least she had constructed a shed on the property with a bed, fridge, counter and sink. She couldn’t afford a toilet yet but she could sleep in a real bed tonight. She also got a promotion at work to Hungry Artist (oh the irony) and achieved level 7 in painting, she was getting close to maxing that skill.

She still hadn’t received the easel career reward so Gwen still needed to travel for her daily task. Instead of going to the same museum on the Isle, she decides to hop on a bus to Del Sol Valley to escape the snow and she heard the Arts Center there was an excellent source of film history.

When Gwen arrived at the Plumbob Pictures Museum, she was dazzled by the shimmering lights of Starlight Boulevard. She stopped for a moment to breath in the warm night air that smelled faintly of citrus and smog. She headed into the museum and climbed to the top floor which housed the art studios, she was not alone for once painting and she eagerly chatted to the other artists about their work and tips of the trade. These professional looking artists are what she so desperately sought to be like one day.

After a few more paintings she could afford a bathroom with a shower and toilet added on to the shed. Now she could actually live there properly without having to visit public lots for the toilet or to wash herself. It was Saturday and the last day of Gwen’s work week so she decided she would try to go out on the town of Del Sol cause she enjoyed it there so much when she was visiting the museum earlier. After work she was promoted to Watercolor Dabbler (4) and she got the Easy Breezy Easel which meant that she could work from home. When she got home she realized the Romance Festival was also today and while Gwen wasn’t in a great mood she felt that she should go since she wanted to get to know some possible spouses and what better place than at the Romance Festival.

When Gwen arrived at the Festival she helped herself to the sakura tea that was flowing freely from a drink fountain. She found that it seemed to have flirty properties and put her in quite a romantic mood. She decided to ask the Love Guru for advice since she hadn’t really met anyone yet. He told her that her romantic future was bleak! Being saddened by the feeling of romantic doom didn’t stop Gwen’s romantic feelings from swelling in her chest and she felt certain that tonight would be a night to make those sparks fly. She spotted a sim she had met previously at the Deadgrass Discoveries, his name was Bradley Rouse. She mentioned the flirty festival tea and saw other sims throwing rose petals and decided to try that with Bradley, he was hansom and easy to talk and flirt with. With all the romantic feelings in the air Gwen decided to paint her last emotional painting for her aspiration level. She continued to chat with Bradley and idly asked if he was single, she was horrified to discover that he was married! Gwen quickly asked that they become just friends and cool off any romantic feelings, she wasn’t trying to break up a marriage no matter how easily the husband seemed to be lead astray. At least Bradley seemed to take the cooling off as easily as their quick spat of romance and Gwen could remain on friendly terms with him.

Gwen finished up her painting and reached the next level of her aspiration. Overall the Romance Festival had been a bust, she trudged home in the snow and fell into her bed. Maybe tomorrow after a good night sleep wouldn’t look so bad.
