Generation 1, Perffaith Legacy

1.1 Hard Knock Life

The Perffaith Legacy was off to a hard start with the Extreme Start, the household funds were down to zero and there was quite a snow storm blowing when Gwen Perffaith first arrived on her new home lot. She was a positive sim so she chose to look at the bright side of things and enjoyed the first snow of the winter season.

The first person she spotted walking about Cavalier Cove was none other than Father Winter! She headed over to introduce herself while she waited for the collectibles to spawn in the area.

After chatting for a minute Gwen headed over to start collecting items for a little income, she needed to build shelter as fast as possible since it was winter time and the snow was already falling.

After a few hours of collecting the snow is starting to lighten up and the sun is coming out. Gwen thinks to herself how beautiful Bridleton Bay is and especially here on the beach of Cavalier Cove.

Her huge empty lot glittered in the afternoon sun, Gwen could already envision a family home built on her beautiful lot ringing with the sound of her future children’s laughter. Unfortunately in her haste to start gathering funds for building she missed the welcome wagon resulting in a slight negative relationship with her neighbors, the Delgato’s, she would have to remember to be extra nice to them in the future. Although in my opinion as the watcher, its a little silly the sims get so upset about no one being home for the welcome wagon.

Gwen needed to paint for her daily work task so she decided to head over to the Deadgrass Discoveries Museum, which is on the isle in the Brindleton Bay. She hoped there would be an easel for her to paint on there, as she cannot afford to spend precious simoleons on anything other than walls and a roof at this point. The measly Ā§566 simoleons she made from selling her collectibles is not nearly enough for any kind of shelter at this point.

Gwen breathed in the crisp salt air on Deadgrass Isle, the lighthouse stands in the distance behind the museum. Again she is momentarily stunned at the beauty of this quaint seaside town. She had read about the stories that the Isle is haunted at night but since it’s only mid afternoon and she wasnā€™t a superstitious sim she pays no mind to that, she confidently stridded up the steps into the museum.

Feeling inspired by the beautiful scenery Gwen found the easel on the second floor of the museum, tucked in a small room with a single computer. She spent some of her hard earned simoleons to paint a small classic painting, which she sold and actually maked Ā§7 profit! She decided to paint another painting before exploring the small self service shop downstairs. She is now painting level 3 with the completion of her second painting. Gwen is started to feel hungry, she thinks maybe there will be some snacks to buy there.

The gift shop turned out to have a fridge stocked with snacks and some pre-made sandwiches. She helped herself to a sandwich and dropped Ā§11 simoleons into the collection tin to pay for her meal. After she finished she decided that since she really had no home or money she will stay here and paint for a while. Gwen failed to realize how bad the weather had turned, its almost at blizzard condition out there now.

Luckily by the time Gwen finished several more paintings, the weather had cleared up and it turned into a very scenic night. She is almost to level 5 in painting now (wow the natural light trait is very powerful for skilling, also we saw no ghosts even though the lot is supposed to be haunted). She has also completed the first level of her Painter Extraordinaire aspiration. Gwen was able to catch the last ferry back to the mainland, unfortunately she cannot sleep outside in the snow and she was very tired. Gwen spied a cafe on the wharf where the ferry landed that looked like it was still open.

It was a strange looking building, shaped like a cat with lots of tchotchkes and plants everywhere. It looked warm and inviting though, and Gwen looked at the sign, it read ā€œCatmosphere Cafeā€. She wonders who ordered coffee with their cat at 2am, it must be the after bar closing time sims, looking to get a second wind before stumbling home.

Gwen was happy to see a cozy sitting room area immediately inside the door of the cafe. She happily warmed her hands at the fire before laying down on the couch for a nap as she was very tired. Tomorrow is her first day of work and she needs get some sleep.

  1. Great start! I haven’t read any legacies with the extreme start before so this will be exciting. That view from that lot is one of the most beautiful in the game imo.

  2. Okay, I’ve been trying to like and comment on this post for ages. Something is wrong with my wp- I hope it works this time. Anyway, great start to the legacy! I’ve never read one with the extreme start so this will be exciting. That lot in Brindleton Bay has one of the best views imo.
